NOTE: Ares™ SN contains two IMI herbicides that bind to both clay particles and organic matter in the soil. Binding will increase with a soil pH less than 6.0. These molecules could also remain bound to the clay and organic matter for longer periods of time in dry and cold conditions. Moisture is necessary for soil microorganisms to break down the herbicide molecules and reduce the risk of herbicide carryover into the following year of application.
It is recommended that a minimum rainfall of 125 mm (5") from June 1st to August 31st in the year of application be received for adequate breakdown of the IMI herbicides to support normal crop rotation recommendations. Environment Canada and provincial rainfall data is only to be used as a guideline as rainfall can vary greatly within a small radius. If available, please check local rainfall data to further guide your rotational cropping decisions.
If rainfall in the year of application was below 125 mm (5") from June 1st to August 31st, it is not recommended to grow non-Clearfield™ canola, oats, durum, flax or sunflowers in the 1st season after application. For further information please contact Corteva Agriscience. In severe drought conditions and poor soil quality, Clearfield tolerant wheat or lentils are recommended in rotation.
Two years after application, the following crops may be grown in the treated field:
Non-Clearfield Canola
Durum wheat
Flax
Sunflower
In the Peace Country, the recommended herbicide option for Clearfield® canola is Amity™ WDG. Amity WDG provides superior control of grass and broadleaf weeds with excellent rotational flexibility.
