Clearfield® questions we thought you might have.
Clearfield® is a production system for canola with high-yielding hybrids, alternative weed control options and differentiated marketing opportunities.
A multi-effective mode-of-action strategy with Clearfield herbicides and their tank mix partners allow growers to customize their weed control strategy specific to their fields needs and can delay the onset of weed resistance.
No. All registered or soon-to-be registered Clearfield canola varieties were developed using traditional plant breeding methods. Therefore, Clearfield crops are treated as non-GMO, conventional crops and are approved for export worldwide.
An in-crop application in the Clearfield® Production System is not as straight forward as glyphosate tolerant canola systems. So, a little planning ahead may be required for a successful weed free season.
There are two in-crop herbicides that are designed for the Clearfield Production System: Ares™ SN and Amity™ WDG*. And, these two herbicides have several tank mix options to help make your weed control more robust and provide additional modes of action.
A canola pre-seed application such as Prospect™ is highly recommended to help reduce early season weed competition and ensure your Clearfield® canola is off to the best possible start.
Contact your local Corteva Agriscience Agronomist or Territory Manager to discuss herbicide options that will work best for your farm.
*Ares™ SN is not registered in the Peace River Region of Alberta and British Columbia.
The Corteva Agriscience Technology Use Agreement (TUA) is an agreement between a grower and Corteva Agriscience™ that serves as a license, allowing the grower to access the benefits of traits such as the Clearfield Production System technology. If growers have not yet signed a Corteva Agriscience TUA, a signed agreement will be required for the 2023 growing season.
